Julius Randle sends message on social media following news of Knicks’ season-ending surgery

Julius Randle did everything he could to get back into the New York Knicks lineup this season, but he couldn’t risk permanent shoulder damage. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the star forward will undergo season-ending surgery , but Randle should be ready in time for 2024-25.

The 29-year-old was averaging 24 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game before the injury, shooting 47.2 percent from the field. The 46 games Randle played in were enough to earn him his third All-Star honor.

He dislocated his shoulder against the Heat on Jan. 27 and hasn’t played since, so he’s had time to process the injury. Randle pushed to avoid surgery, but it wasn’t avoidable. As disappointed as he may be, Randle made an Instagram post soon after Woj’s report.
