A match that on paper promised to be very balanced resulted in the worst defeat of the season for the reigning NBA champions. The Knicks start very strong and lead from start to finish thanks to the excellent performances of OG Anunoby (26 points and 6 steals) and Quentin Grimes (19 points coming off the bench). The Nuggets lose 19 balls, shoot 40.5% from the field and 5/26 from three, effectively clinging to the usual Nikola Jokic.
Denver takes the field in New York with a very low energy level, certainly insufficient to face the Knicks. The only one who doesn’t seem to want to give way to the hosts without at least trying to have his say is obviously Nikola Jokic. The Serbian finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 13/18 from the field in just over 27 minutes played.
