The Los Angeles Lakers parted ways for the Knicks target

The New York Knicks have to compete with the Los Angeles Lakers for one of their top trade targets in Atlanta Hawks Dejounte Murray. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported the team’s interest in Murray and other trade targets.

“The Knicks will continue to be active on the trade market, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “As HoopsHype previously reported, the Knicks targeted Anunoby and Hawks guard Dejounte Murray. While the loss of Quickley seemingly hurts a potential trade package for Murray on paper, Murray remains a player the Knicks are interested in acquiring, league sources said.

However, the Lakers could be the favorites to land the former All-Star. Sam Amick of The Athletic addressed the rumors about Murray and the Lakers.

“It appears to have some very real basis and our Shams Charania reported that offers have been going back and forth. There were rumors that the Hawks would ideally want to get their hands on Austin Reaves, but that won’t happen. So the question is how long Landry Fields will last. But it seems like the Lakers have separated themselves from the Dejounte Pack and to some extent focused on him as a guy they think can help them.
