New York Knicks: OG Anunoby’s admission about meeting with the Indiana Pacers is perfectly understandable

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby and Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam won an NBA title together. This time they will try to beat each other in the second round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. The reality that he will no longer play alongside Siakam is becoming even stronger for Anunoby as he will face his former Toronto Raptors teammate in the playoffs, with a series against the Pacers coming.

Anunoby entered the NBA in 2017 as a first-round pick by the Raptors, just a year after Toronto selected Siakam in the first round of the NBA Draft in 2016. The two were key pieces for the Raps in the team’s NBA title run in 2019 when they defeated the Golden State Warriors in the finals. With so much shared NBA experience, it’s understandable that Anunoby has mixed feelings heading into the showdown against Siakam and the Pacers.

Via Zach Braziller of the New York Post:

“Yeah, it’s going to be weird,” Anunoby said Saturday. “I never played against him. He’s always been my teammate, so he’ll be weird, but he’ll be nice, I’m sure. He can’t wait too.

However, he is sure about this. Anunoby won’t let his friendship with Siakam get in the way of his desire to help the Knicks get even deeper into the postseason. Of course, the same can be said of Siakam.
