The Knicks make the decision to give up a star

The New York Knicks reportedly had the chance to enter a recent Karl-Anthony Towns trade market and chose to pass up the opportunity.

Part of the reason is that the team lacks the salary cap flexibility to make major additions in free agency. The only way they have to make a revolutionary move is through a trade. And there have been several stars the team has been linked with since they were eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Miami Heat.

It appears the organization had a chance to make a move for Towns, but chose to relinquish the opportunity. In a Thursday edition of “The Lowe Post” podcast, SNY NBA insider Ian Begley revealed that Karl-Anthony Towns was engaged in business conversations about the league ahead of the NBA Draft. However, despite seemingly being on the block in June, the Knicks didn’t jump in pursuit and continued a “restraint” and careful approach to potential blockbuster trades.
