The Knicks are ringside to get Joel Embiid

The New York Knicks had a quiet but productive offseason. By trading Obi Toppin, they helped fix the problem in the frontcourt. And with the acquisition of Donte DiVincenzo, the team has added depth to one of the weakest parts of its roster.

There hasn’t been a big move for the Knicks this offseason, but one could be on the horizon.

If the Philadelphia 76ers can’t make lemonade out of lemons with Harden’s situation, it wouldn’t be so surprising if Embiid were forced to reevaluate his future with the team. And his recent comments about winning an NBA championship will likely begin to fan the flames of potential business speculation.

I’m not saying it would require or demand a trade at that point, but it has to at least be on the table as a possibility.

And if that were to happen, the Knicks, who have been linked to Embiid in the past, would likely be ringside.
