Knicks, Reggie Bullock explains last week’s jersey incident: “We had some good laughs”

The Knicks lost last Saturday’s first home game to the Philadelphia 76ers 109-89, but a wardrobe malfunction led to a memorable moment for Reggie Bullock.

Starting as a small forward, Bullock’s final stats weren’t very illuminating, as he finished with six points, three rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes. But as soon as he took the field, there was an obvious mistake with his jersey that managed to slip through the cracks.

Bullock had the correct number 25 on the front of his shirt, but on the back was the number 23. It was a mistake that might have been less obvious except for the fact that he was starting next to center Mitchell Robinson, which is, of course, the real owner of number 23 of the Knicks.

Bullock and the Knicks eventually realized the mistake and his jersey was replaced with a proper one.

Speaking after Tuesday’s shooting, Bullock addressed the shirt incident, saying he hadn’t noticed it before the game because his shirt was hanging in the locker with the number 25 in front of him.

“I definitely found out later. Our shirts (in our locker) aren’t being turned. (The front) is in front of us in the locker room,” explained Bullock. “So it was normal routine, going to the locker room and putting on the shirt. If I had noticed, I certainly wouldn’t have worn the shirt. But it was quite fun. It was hilarious for the team. We had a good laugh.”
