During the offseason, the New York Knicks will have to make an important decision: who to trade between Julius Randle and Obi Toppin. Many Knicks fans would like to trade Randle to make better use of Toppin who has had little playing time so far. Yet this will not be the path that the Knicks will take.
Trying to trade Randle would accomplish nothing. Randle still has three years left on his contract and the value of him is very commercial at the moment is very disappointing.
Keeping Randle at the Knicks would be a direct choice against the fans who are asking otherwise. The bigger risk is that if Randle isn’t traded the Knicks are much more likely to trade Toppin. Another blow to Knicks fans.
