RJ Barrett doesn’t complain about how his rookie season ended

RJ Barrett ended his rookie season when the NBA closed in March.

And although 22 teams – and their rookies – took part in Orlando’s NBA bubble in July and August, the Knicks weren’t one of those teams.

But the absolute pick number 3 of 2019 looks ahead instead of behind him.

“I have no complaints,” Barrett said missing a portion of his first season in the league and also this year’s Summer League. “I got to train a lot, I got to work a lot on my game during the summer. If anything it gave me more time to study my game and really work on the details of what I needed to do to improve.”

In 56 games last season, Barrett averaged 14.3 points with 40.2% of shots, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Despite the decent numbers, Barrett was not selected for any of the All-Rookie teams.
