Knicks, the full schedule, including MSG opening against 76ers

The full Knicks schedule for the first half of the 2020-21 NBA season, including the opening night against the Indiana Pacers on December 23 and the opening match at home on December 26 against the Philadelphia 76ers, has been released.

The Sixers have undergone a major change in their front office this off-season, adding Daryl Morey as president of basketball operations and taking Doc Rivers as their new manager.

On the pitch, the Sixers will also look a little different, having swapped two starters Al Hortford and Josh Richardson. But with All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons around, this team will continue to fight in the East.

If all goes to plan, this will be the first game played at Garden in nine months.

Will this be the season that RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson become the franchise cornerstones that many in the organization think they can be? We will find out soon enough.

In addition to the fact that December 26 was number 8 on Obi Toppin’s overall standings for the first ever game at MSG, it will be the first home game for a number of Knicks’ offseason acquisitions in blue and orange.

Obviously the MSG charm won’t be fully present at the start of this season, with fans still unable to participate in the games due to COVID-19, but every time a player arrives on that pitch, it’s still special.
