Mike Conley is likely to enter the final year of his contract with Utah Jazz. At the age of 32, Conley could probably opt to collect his $ 34 million for the 2020-21 period and then cash another major contract before the twilight of his NBA career. However, considering that he has had a swinging season with Jazz, there is a possibility that the team will move him during the offseason.
Conley scored on average only 14 points and four assists on shooting at 41% from the field and shooting at 38% from a distance of 3 points in the past season in Utah. I’m not sure it had the kind of impact that Jazz thought it would have on the team, and perhaps Utah believes it would be better to invest its money somewhere else.
The Knicks need a guardian and could use a veteran presence to help teach their young players the details of the NBA. Conley will not be a troublemaker and still has the ability to change the game. In the right situation, there is no doubt that Conley could still be one of the best guards in the league and perhaps for New York next season.
