Knicks get huge injury update ahead of Game 3

The New York Knicks are preparing for the return of scrappy Philadelphia 76ers guard De’Anthony Melton in Game 3 as center Mitchell Robinson has joined the injured list.

Robinson is questionable to play Thursday, April 25, in Philadelphia due to management of his left ankle injury.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t mention anything about Robinson’s status during Wednesday’s post-practice press conference.

The Knicks center, who missed 50 games in the regular season with a sprained left ankle, was limited to 18 minutes in Game 2 after playing 30 minutes in Game 1, the most he has played since returning from surgery at the ankle.

Melton (back) and reigning MVP Joel Embiid (left knee) are also both listed as questionable, but are expected to play for the Sixers.

“I had practice today,” Melton told reporters after Wednesday’s practice. “So I feel good. I’m ready for tomorrow’s match and we’ll see how it goes.”
