The New York Knicks are in the Eastern Conference’s NBA playoff race with a 14-10 record and finished in seventh place in the conference on Thursday. But they had lost three of their last four games, and now one of their key players is out injured.
Mitchell Robinson, their starting center and arguably their best defender, suffered an ankle injury that required surgery and will reportedly be out for at least a couple of months. He created a big hole in the starting lineup for coach Tom Thibodeau.
To that end, the Knicks signed big man Taj Gibson.
