The Clippers overtake the Knicks after Jalen Brunson’s 50-point game

The New York Knicks flirted with history once again in the immediate aftermath of Jalen Brunson’s 50-point masterpiece. Unfortunately for New York, that courtship has manifested itself in the form of defensive ineptitude.

Seven Los Angeles Clippers reached double figures against the Knicks Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena en route to a 144-122 victory.

Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 36 in the win as New York (14-11) gave up at least 140 points for the second time this month, previously doing so Dec. 5 against Milwaukee. The Clippers (15-10), who benefited from the double-doubles of James Harden (12 assists, 10 points) and Ivica Zubac (13 points, 11 rebounds), extended their streak of consecutive victories to seven games, the longest active streak in NBA records.
