There were rumors that the previous Knicks coaching staff were worried that RJ Barrett, who wore a pink suit on draft night, was too Hollywood and not quite a gym rat as a rookie.
There’s a new digital commercial from Kith / Knicks showing Barrett working on his filming in a night session with a security guard falling asleep while waiting for training to finish. It is not a fantasy.
Asked about the best part of Barrett’s preseason, coach Tom Thibodeau said: “Probably the way he trained. He set a great example for everyone. If he continues to work in this way, he will continue to improve”.
According to sources, the Knicks coaching staff have a new vision for Barrett, turning him more into a small forward than a shooting guard in order to give him less responsibility for early possession.
