Knicks, option on RJ Barrett and Kevin Knox exercised

The Knicks have announced that they have exercised their fourth year option on Kevin Knox and their third year option on RJ Barrett.

The moves are no surprise, as both have amassed decent numbers in their young careers.

Barrett’s 14.3 points per game in his rookie year last season was the third best among rookies, while his 5.0 boards per game were the quarterfinals. The third overall pick in the 2019 draft played in 56 games last year, starting 55 of them, playing over 30 minutes per game.

Knox averaged 9.9 points per game in the first two years of his career. The ninth overall pick of 2018 started 61 of the 140 games played.
