As noted by NBA.com, The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater had reported a few days earlier that the two sides were in the process of striking a deal. Golden State should have given up on Lin instead of giving him a spot on its 15-man opening night roster, but the franchise would have kept its G League rights via the Exposition 10 contract.
