Steve Kerr: “Donte DiVincenzo will be a perfect fit for the Knicks”

Donte DiVincenzo may have spent just one season with Golden State, but Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has nothing but praise for the 26-year-old.

While DiVincenzo has grown as a shooter, Kerr feels the energy and passion the guard brings nightly on and off is precisely why he will quickly become a favorite with Knicks fans and head coach Tom Thibodeau.

“He will love Him”, Kerr said. “Tom is going to love it, because Donte is a grind. He is feisty and plays hard on every possession. Tom will love it”.

Between the grind-it-out mentality the Knicks have displayed all season and his familiarity with a few key roster pieces, Kerr feels DiVincenzo will fit right in New York.

“The Knicks really impressed me as a competitive group last year”, he said. “Thibs is going to love it, then the Villanova bond with Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson. True, those guys are champions together since college”.

“I think the connection will help, and then give them another two-way player, another guy who can handle the ball and play on it, and defend on the other end,” Kerr added. “His competitiveness will fit perfectly”.
