Knicks: Quickley said his Kentucky experience was a big reason for his success so far in the NBA

Immanuel Quickley entered the NBA looking to establish himself after spending two seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats. Quickley was selected in 25th place in the 2020 NBA Draft and was traded to the New York Knicks. So far, Quickley has been impressive in a short time.

In three games, Quickley averaged 10.0 points with 57.1% of shots. On Monday he made his best effort against the Atlanta Hawks with 16 points off the bench in the Knicks 113-108 road win.

The impressive performance solidified him in the Knicks rotation. Quickley was one of eight players to enter the game against the Hawks. He played 19 minutes and was 6 of 6 from the free throw line. He also made two three points in the night.

After the game, Quickley said his Kentucky experience was a big reason for his success so far in the NBA.

“I went to the University of Kentucky,” Quickley said of any potential nerves. “We played in front of 30,000 people every night. So just to come here and get this win with my guys because we had to react. I think this team will do something special. I’m proud of my teammates and proud of my coaches”.
