Knicks can trade RJ Barrett for $176 million star

The New York Knicks should be a pretty active club this summer as they try to bolster their talent pool to improve their odds of the bigger hits they come next year.

For Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, there is one specific multi-team business idea that Leon Rose and the company should consider a “really” move when it comes to achieving such a task.

The trade offer reads as follows:

New York Knicks receive: Paul George

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: Damian Lillard

Portland Trail Blazers receive: RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Jericho Sims, Evan Fournier, 2025 first-round pick (top four protected, by MIL via NYK), 2027 first-round pick (via NYK), and 2029 first-round pick (via New York )

Citing the fact that the Knicks “still look like a two-way star before they make a championship run”, along with the fact that their front office “could feel the urgency to take action” with Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle being “at the heart of their primes”, Buckley says trading former third overall pick RJ Barrett for the remaining four years of Paul George’s $176 million contract could be a move worth making.
