The Boston Celtics could go after former NBA MVP Derrick Rose in free agency, according to Newsday’s Steve Popper. Rose becomes an unrestricted free agent on June 30 as the New York Knicks did not pick up his 2023-24 team option.
Derrick Rose is linked also to the Lakers
“There are competing teams — the Lakers, Suns and Celtics or even a return to his hometown Bulls — that might have minutes at point guard left for Rose,” Popper wrote. “He’s healthy and has adapted his game to him, becoming more of a three-point threat in recent years”.
Rose signed a three-year, $43.6 million deal with the Knicks in August 2021.
