The Knicks need a backup point guard after moving Immanuel Quickley

By sending Quickley to the Raptors, the Knicks gave up their only established help, the point guard off the bench, leaving Brunson to potentially play even more than the career-high 35.7 minutes per game he’s logged thus far. Third-year pro Miles McBride played better than expected as Brunson’s replacement, but it’s clear New York could use a more established (and consistent) option.

Luckily for New York, there are point guards available on the trade market. The Knicks have recently been linked to Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks and Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers, and these are trades New York should seriously consider making. But not all backup point guards are created equally. It would be fair to give up multiple first-round picks for Murray, while Brogdon shouldn’t get that kind of return.
