The Knicks have the fewest postseason wins of any NBA team over the last 20 seasons

The New York Knicks have one again finished the season outside of the playoff picture. This is their seventh consecutive season missing out on the postseason.

In the last 20 seasons, the Knicks have won just nine playoff games. Even the lowly Charlotte Hornets have more wins (13) in that span. To put that into perspective the San Antonio Spurs have won 150 postseason games in the last 20 seasons.

This is just one of many statistics that shows the Knicks incompetence in the James Dolan era. After making runs to the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999, the Knicks fell apart. In 2012, New York won their first postseason game since 2001. They won their only postseason series in the last 20 seasons in 2013 but have not made it back to the playoffs since then.

They have never been able to commit to rebuilding around young players that they develop but are attempting to do so now. R.J. Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox are all under the age of 23. The Knicks also have seven first-round picks in the next four years so despite the miserable stretch there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Now it’s up to the front office to prove they can draft well and develop the team’s young players in order to finally turn the franchise around.
