The Knicks are pursuing a free agent from the Warriors to replace Obi Toppin

The New York Knicks have yet to make a move to replace Obi Toppin after agreeing to trade him to the Pacers last weekend.

There are a few candidates New York might consider, but there’s one player in particular who should have already caught the Knicks’ eye if they’re looking to sign a backup.

JaMychal Green signed a one-year deal with the Warriors last summer and is currently an unrestricted free agent. In a piece predicting which free agents each NBA team could still sign, Bleacher Report listed Green as a New York option.

The 33-year-old is a quick thinker on offense, a skilled changer on defense, and generally an above-average shooter from distance. If his shooting holds up (he’s hit over 37% from distance in four of the last five seasons), he could add an element of strength to this frontcourt’s attack.
