Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams, who is reportedly still a highly sought-after player as he faces a potential contract extension with the Celtics.
Boston has already made its move on Williams, extending an $8.4 million qualifying offer, officially making him a restricted free agent. That just means that when he’s eligible to sign a new deal on Thursday, the Celtics will have the right to match whatever free agency offer he gets.
As it stands, a handful of teams are reportedly still tracking the 24-year-old in Boston. According to Jared Weiss of The Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards “are all still in the mix” for Williams. Obviously, the Celtics will have plenty of competition on their hands as they look to keep the 6-foot-6 forward’s serves.
