Rumors are once again swirling around the New York Knicks, as the team looks to finally land a franchise point guard.
They could try to acquire Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul via trade this offseason. Both are expected to be on the trade market and the Knicks are desperate to have a star player. However, both stars are in their 30s and are signed to massive contracts.
New York has also been linked to free agent Fred VanVleet, who is coming off an excellent season with the Raptors. It would take big contract to sign VanVleet but he is just 26 years old and likely has more upside than Westbrook and Paul.
The Knicks always seem to find themselves involved in rumors tying them to star players but rarely are able to land them. Perhaps Leon Rose can do what their previous general managers failed to do, and bring a star to New York this offseason.
