According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, on Thursday, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau was asked about Gibson, what he brings to the team and whether or not he believes the veteran forward should remain on the roster, saying:
“It’s obvious. It was amazing,” Thibodeau said. “On any team, at any time, he is a great addition. So I’m confident. Leon [Rose] will have everything and we will always do what is best for the team. But everyone in the organization loves and appreciates him.”
Thibodeau made his wish come true. He will continue to draw up plays for the 38-year-old big man who he coached during the latter’s 16-year NBA career. The Knicks still have three games before the All-Star break and will need all hands on deck during this difficult period.
