The New York Knicks have looked like a completely new team since moving on to OG Anunoby and it took him four games to leave an indelible mark on team history: Through his first four games as a Knick, Anunoby brings a plus-minus to plus -85, which is the most for anyone in the first four games in blue and orange. This is also the second-highest mark in NBA history, behind only Quentin Richards (plus-91).
Although he has only averaged 12 points per game with the Knicks thus far, Anunoby has been praised for his defensive impact. After Saturday’s 121-105 win in Washington, the Knicks (21-15) gave up an average of 100.5 points, tops in the NBA in that span.
Coach Tom Thibodeau praised Anunoby’s early impact following the Knicks’ 36-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.
