The 2020 NBA draft will look a little different from last year’s edition. There are some interesting prospects, of course, and there is an overwhelming personality, LaMelo Ball.
LaMelo may have been as famous as Williamson last year. Unlike Williamson, he is not the best consensual player in the draft and his value will depend on the adaptation of the team.
The New York Knicks are the team most closely associated with Ball because it could be where Ball’s camp wants it to end.
“Some league sources believe that the baseball field will try to lead the Knicks’ 18-year-old guard, although such a move will seem difficult if Leon Rose’s club does not rise to the top four of the lottery,” Marc Berman of the New York Post said.
The problem is that a lottery slot is not guaranteed in New York. The Knicks hold the sixth worst record in the league, and could slip into one.
In terms of adaptation, New York would provide an almost ideal destination. A potential guard point in the franchise, Ball projects to line up well next to rookie star RJ Barrett, and the two would provide the Knicks with some much-needed stellar power.
The measure is good enough that New York could consider trying to climb to secure Ball, although SNY ‘s Danny Abriano believes the team may have some alternatives in mind:
“With the Knicks still looking for their future guard, LaMelo seems like a perfect choice. If they miss the chance, New York may turn to a player like Tyrese Haliburton or Cole Anthony with their first choice. their likely lottery pick, the Knicks also have choice n27 in the draft, and tip guard Kira Lewis Jr. – widely projected as a late first-round pick – may be waiting there. “
