NBA Rumors: Three Teams for Thunder PG Chris Paul According to ESPN Insider

Chris Paul has managed to bring back his old self and has proven to everyone in the championship that he still has plenty of fuel in his tank. However, despite what could be considered a successful first year in Oklahoma City, Paul may have to move again when the 2019-20 NBA season is officially over. He may be the one who helped install the winning culture in the Thunder, but with the team heading for an inevitable rebuilding, it’s obviously a strange adaptation to their roster.

In a recent appearance on ESPN’s Hoop Collective podcast via Twitter, NBA insiders Brian Windhorst and Royce Young talked about CP3 and its uncertain future with the Thunder. Once he officially becomes available in the trading bloc, Paul is expected to receive strong interest from teams who are in dire need of a backcourt increase and additional star power to contend for the championship title. When Windhorst asked where the veteran point guard could be traded, Young said the three “logical places” for Paul in the 2020 offseason include the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks.

“I watch three teams – Bobby knows this better than me, but I consider three teams as the most likely destinations: Philly, the Knicks and Milwaukee. These are the three teams that I think are logical places, “said Young, as transcribed by Adam Hermann of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The Knicks have often been linked to rumors involving Paul. The Knicks may still be in the midst of the rebuilding process, but with Leon Rose currently serving as the team’s basketball operations president, they already want to take a huge leap forward in the 2020-21 NBA season. Aside from what he could contribute to both ends of the field, Paul could also teach the promising Knicks core a thing or two about winning like he did to the Thunder.
