Kristaps Porzingis tweeted a video of a dunk she had against her former team, the New York Knicks, last season. The video was in slow motion and set to Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands”.
Regardless of whether Porzingis intended him as a shadow or not, many Knicks fans certainly took him that way. Many of them pointed out that the Knicks had indeed defeated the Mavericks in that game and effectively wiped out the streak of the season. Others have become slightly more personal.
In any case, Porzingis left the Knicks in bad shape. The 25-year-old former All-Star was hastily traded to Dallas in 2019 after a prolonged drama with the organization. The story between the two sides is probably why many have interpreted Porzingis’ tweet as a shadow.
