Knicks, rumors about trade with Toppin for an All-Star

Obi Toppin is one player who has appeared in a couple of trade ideas that would earn the Knicks a late first-round selection. The 25-year-old will become extension eligible this summer but doesn’t appear to have much of a future in New York, meaning the front office should consider handing him over to a new team as he is set to become a free agent limited coming off-season.

The idea of a Zach LaVine-Knicks deal has re-emerged. There were fears that New York was close to trading for LaVine before the February deadline, but that rumor has been debunked. Similar to the Knicks, the Bulls don’t have a draft pick this year. After a season in which Chicago finished 10th in the East, the front office may decide to drop LaVine and/or DeMar DeRozan.
