Knicks on McDaniels, a rough diamond to be developed

A versatile offensive player with the basics of becoming a two-way presence, McDaniels could be one of the surprises of the next draft. Jaden McDaniels is located at 6’10 “with a range of almost 9’0” and has the combination of jumping ability and agility that gives way to clear defensive potential.

On the one hand, the positive aspects of his film show a player who can work with the ball in his hands in the open field, identify jumping points and play over the edge, as well as defend multiple positions.

On the other hand, McDaniels fired just 40.5 percent from the field and boasted an average of 3.2 turnovers and 3.3 personal fouls per game, accurate reflections of how raw his game is.

McDaniels is a raw talent with skills that aren’t quite ready for the NBA, which means that the New York Knicks should take a long time to develop his skills.
