Nerlens Noel said the defense is ahead of their attack. On Friday night, they kept the Pistons at 32.5% shooting, forced 22 turnovers, blocked six shots and limited Detroit to 10 of 39 3-point shots.
The Knicks defense looked completely different on Friday night.
“It was a great starting point for building a good base,” Noel said. “It was a testament to you practicing how you play. I think we have had a great preparation.
“The coach is definitely working with us to take defense to a whole different level, just making sure we have that intensity, defensive focus, let it all take care of itself on the other side.”
