Knicks, Mitchell Robinson expects a training camp battle with Nerlens Noel

Mitchell Robinson said he expects serious competition for the position from Nerlens Noel, who the Knicks signed while free agency.

“I want to start, [Noel] wants to start, so we are going to go to each other, it’s just a natural thing,” Robinson said.

By comparison, Robinson averaged 9.7 points with 74.2% of shots from the field (an NBA record that surpassed Wilt Chamberlain), 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks last season in New York, while Noel scored 7.4 points with 68.4% of shots, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game with OKC Thunder.
