After opting for his 2023-24 player option with the Knicks on June 29, Josh Hart is committing to the last roster spot on Team USA’s 2023 FIBA World Cup, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hart will join the 12-man roster that includes his Knicks teammate Jalen Brunson and former Villanova teammate, Nets forward Mikal Bridges.
The 2023 FIBA World Cup kicks off on August 25, and Team USA will play its first group stage match on August 26 against New Zealand in Manila, Philippines. They will then face Greece on August 28 and Jordan on August 30.
The top two teams from Group C will advance to the second round and face the top two teams from Group D (Egypt, Mexico, Montenegro and Lithuania).
The rest of the Team USA roster includes Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans, Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies, Cam Johnson of the Nets, Walker Kessler of Utah Jazz, Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks and Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers.
