Knicks’ Jalen Brunson is 100% honest about being cut from Team USA’s roster

The New York Knicks had a stellar 2023-24 regular season and are preparing for the NBA playoffs. New York star guard Jalen Brunson released his career stats ahead of the Knicks’ impressive 50-win season. However, Brunson was left off the 2024 Team USA roster. He revealed his thoughts on the omission to reporters shortly after making the team’s decisions.

Many would think that Brunson is angry about being left off the Olympic team, but his reaction to the press when asked about it said otherwise.

“I was just focused on the playoffs, I didn’t even look at the roster,” Brunson said, according to SNY Knicks.

The 2024 Team USA roster includes big names like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. Other notable additions include Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Devin Booker. Brunson probably could have competed for Jrue Holiday or Tyrese Haliburton’s job, but he didn’t make it.

Brunson will have no qualms about Team USA’s roster decision, which is a good move considering the Knicks have crucial postseason aspirations.

New York finished the season at 50-32 and clinched the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. New York’s 50-win season was their first in over 10 years. So the fans of the Big Apple are ready to support their team with passion.

The Knicks are preparing to face the winner of the seventh-seeded Philadelphia 76ers-Miami Heat Play-In tournament game. Regardless of who the team faces, Jalen Brunson and his team will be ready.

Brunson had a career regular season in his second year with the Knicks, and will look to carry his momentum into the postseason.
