Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley was simply sensational in Friday night’s 102-81 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coming off the bench, Quickley turned on the second unit of the Knicks for a total of 25 points (a tall team) to go on with five rebounds and three assists. Quickley was also 5 on 8 from over the arc, providing some needed spacing and firing in the backcourt.

Quickley immediately became a fan favorite in New York, but the question remains: when will he make the starting lineup?

Manager Tom Thibodeau was questioned about this possibility after Friday’s win, saying finding the right groups of players to have together on the pitch is what really matters, as is having the right line-up to finish a match.

“There’s always something to think about. And because someone doesn’t start, it’s not that important to me,” Thibodeau said. “It’s having bands that play well together and you can always end up with the people you think will always give you the best chance of winning the game, so whatever the game requires, you can try to take advantage of it.

“But we always look at different formations, what works best and how the guys complement each other. Hence, it will play a significant role. But we will need everyone. So tonight was his night and Sunday afternoon could be someone else’s”.
