Concrete interest of the Knicks for Joe Harris

The Knicks ended their 2019-20 shortened season by finishing 27th in three points and last dead (30th) in three points. In other words, they didn’t turn many three, and when they did, they didn’t do much.

A free agent who would inject the necessary perimeter shot into the lineup is guard / forward Nets Joe Harris. While Harris plays most of his minutes on the wing, for the Knicks, it could be an excellent option to shoot the guard as a complement to RJ Barrett.

Harris was removed one season from leading the NBA in three places with a 47.4 percent percentage of 5.1 attempts per game. 41.2% are shooting this season. It is a career shooter of 42.3%. Rose would add volume and efficiency to the three-point category by adding Harris.

SNY’s Ian Begley recently reported that New York had an interest in Harris at this season’s commercial deadline. If Kenny Atkinson ends up getting the job as head coach, it is reasonable to believe that the Knicks will pursue Harris in a free agency. It could become a key addition, especially if the team adds another non-shooter to the draft LaMelo Ball.
