Tom Thibodeau hopes to convert Barack Obama into a Knicks fan

New Knicks manager Tom Thibodeau wants to try to complete a presidential-sized task: to transform Chicago native and longtime Bulls fan, former President Barack Obama, into a Knicks fan.

Obama sent a shot to the Knicks earlier this week in an episode of Desus and Mero on Showtime, claiming the duo “could play for the Knicks” after seeing a clip of missing shots while playing basketball with Senator Cory. Booker.

Thibodeau, who was the coach of the Chicago Bulls for most of the Obama presidency, acknowledged the president’s documented love for the game and the Bulls by speaking to reporters Tuesday.

“He was a great president and a huge Bulls fan, so I’ve always liked him,” Thibs said. “We will have to work to make him a Knicks fan, that’s all. He loves the game and all our players in the league have a lot of respect for him.

“So we’re going to work to get him to go from being a Bulls fan to being a Knicks fan.”
