The Knicks are tracking an MVP

Joel Embiid recently shook the Philadelphia 76ers franchise to its core. Speaking with Maverick Carter during an interview for Uninterrupted Sports Festival, Embiid noted how he wants to win a championship, whether it’s with the Sixers or another team.

“I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes,” Embiid said. “I don’t know where it’s going to be, whether in Philadelphia or anywhere else. I just want the chance to make it happen”.

Embiid’s comments come on the heels of a commercial request from James Harden. The Sixers failed to fight for the title last season, losing to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. Now, Philadelphia appears to be crumbling from the inside.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the New York Knicks could be one of those teams, as they are reportedly “monitoring” Embiid’s happiness in Philadelphia.

“Meanwhile, teams around the league, especially the New York Knicks, are monitoring how the Harden saga plays out in Philadelphia and will influence MVP Joel Embiid’s happiness,” Scotto said. “The Knicks have long admired Embiid and have significant draft capital to dangle. Embiid’s former agent was Leon Rose, who now leads the New York front office”.
