Steve Kerr has no regrets choosing Golden State over the Knicks

Steve Kerr enjoyed a long 15-year career in the NBA but had no previous experience as a manager. Despite this, Kerr was squeezed between two teams, the Warriors and the New York Knicks, who both wanted him at the helm.

Obviously, Kerr chose Golden State. Fast forward seven years, and it’s safe to say there’s no regret there, even as the Warriors prepare to host the Knicks on Thursday night. Kerr joined NBC Sports analyst Grant Liffmann on the Dubs Talk Podcast, saying that at this point in his career, he doesn’t even think about that decision.

“I never think about it,” Kerr said. “Why should I? Things have been pretty good.”

Hiring Kerr ended up being a major undertaking for the Warriors. They registered someone who never held an assistant coaching or player development role but ran into his first coaching job.
