RJ Barrett: No fans at Madison Square Garden “could be a boon” for the Knicks

The New York Knicks, like most NBA teams, are playing fanless in their home arena during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Knicks second-year guard RJ Barrett discussed the topic with reporters on Saturday and noted that a lack of fans could give his team an edge at Madison Square Garden.

“Actually having no fans could be an advantage. I know that if I were a competitor coming to Garden with all those fans, I would like to have a great game,” Barrett said to SNY’s Ian Begley.

“So going in there without fans actually probably gives us an edge that way too. You just have to go out there and play basketball.”
