Randle’s triple double is not enough for the Knicks to win over the Nets

Dwight Howard, left, of the SIxers blocks a shot by Julius Randle of the Knicks during the 4th quarter of a NBA game at the Wells Fargo Center on March 16, 2021.

Jeff Green’s two free throws 3.7 seconds from the siren (23 points and 4 rebounds, with 6/15 from the field), give the Nets a complicated success on the second day of a back-to-back against the Knicks in a match in which Brooklyn was forced after a few minutes to do without James Harden – returned to the field after 2 games of absence, but stopped again after 4 minutes and a wrong shot (interrupted the streak of 450 matches in double figures by points) due to the exacerbation of the hamstring problem.

Kyrie Irving has therefore thought of the rest on the parquet, author not only of the triple overtaking at 59 seconds of the siren, but protagonist of his seventh race by at least 40 points in the Nets jersey – third all-time in the history of the franchise behind Vince Carter (17 ) and John Williamson (8): for Irving they are 40 with 5/12 from the arc and 7 assists, while LaMarcus Aldridge – who started in the quintet – collects 8 points with eight conclusions, in a match for Brooklyn still without Kevin Durant (absent from last February 13 and next to return.

The 5-0 run by Alec Burks to bring the score back in the final is so frustrated by the Knicks, who lose the fourth game of the last five played after the attempt on Julius Randle’s siren does not find the bottom of the retina. The New York All-Star scores a triple double of 19 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists, to which are added 22 points from RJ Barrett and 21 from Reggie Bullock.
