Patrick Ewing has never won an NBA title, and to make matters worse, his Olympic gold medal he won in 1992 as a Dream Team member was stolen.
“At some point my home was raided in New York and my medals were stolen,” Ewing revealed for the first time Tuesday “The Dan Patrick Show”.
Ewing, who did not disclose the date of the burglary, said his 1984 gold medal was stolen, as was the 1984 NCAA title ring he won with the Hoyas.
Patrick Ewing said he called United States basketball director Jerry Colangelo, who was able to get him some replacement medals. The Hall of Fame center added that someone tried to sell his championship ring on eBay, but that he was able to retrieve it.
