MSG Sports adds David Hopkinson to James Dolan’s advisors

Knicks owner James Dolan has another chief adviser as MSG Sports hired David Hopkinson on Monday to oversee its sports properties.

In a press release, Garden said Hopkinson has “more than 25 years of experience in the diverse sports industry.” He was named executive vice president of MSG Sports responsible for its “strategic vision” and president of team business operations.

Prior to joining Garden, Hopkinson was an executive for Real Madrid and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment who oversaw Toronto Raptors, Maple Leafs and Toronto FC. Replaces Kristin Bernert.

Hopkinson will oversee the Knicks, Rangers, G-League Westchester Knicks, Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) and the Knicks game.
