Thibodeau admitted after Thursday’s rehearsal that he strengthened defensive principles early in the session, working on running on the pitch and returning to defense, before moving on to other problems that arose during their four-game crush.
“We worked on our defense for a while and then we covered some offensive stuff that we wanted to work on,” Thibodeau said. “The main thing was to try to get on and off and to train off the pitch. I felt we needed to work in that area as well.
“I think the big challenge is when you have a number of areas that you would like to support, you have to prioritize. You can’t work on them every day. So pick three or four things you would like to get into and improve and that’s what we did.”
