Knicks, Thibodeau wants Knox to emerge

Kevin Knox is still trying to achieve the consistency he missed in his first two years in New York, but Knox provided shots out of the lights for the second consecutive preseason game with 20 points off the bench in 119 on Friday. -83 conquers the Cavaliers at the Garden.

Including the fourth quarter of the Knicks’ previous win over Cleveland two nights earlier, Knox has buried nine of his last 10 3-point attempts.

“Looking back at his career, when he made some good shots, he always made them. Or at least he had a good chance of making them”, said Knicks manager Tom Thibodeau. “And when he took out the hard shots, he makes him a much better player. He plays with a lot more energy on defense.

“But I want him to get going – with his defense first, running on the floor, bouncing and then sweeping the floor. And then I thought our guys did a great job of penetrating it and finding it. I thought the board readings were great. Kevin worked very hard to prepare for the season”.
