The New York Knicks have not entered the playoffs since 2013. However, after acquiring a ton of young talent in recent years and hiring Tom Thibodeau as their new manager, they could turn the page.

Known for being a head coach who wants to win now and push his players to the limit, Thibodeau’s hiring could signal a new direction in New York. According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Thibodeau recently said the Knicks must be aggressive in pursuing a star.

“Sometimes you have to do it through exchanges, sometimes it’s free will. But I think you have to be very aggressive in looking for these opportunities. They just don’t happen by accident. You have to make them happen”.

This would be a smart move for the Knicks. As their roster is made up now, New York has a lot of solid RPGs who would be complementary to a star. Whether through free agency or trade, the Knicks could be one star from being relevant again.
