Knicks, team workouts will begin on Wednesday

The Knicks will begin their team training on Wednesday. According to NBA rules, training can last until October 6. Any team that has not received an Orlando bubble invitation can do volunteer team training in a bubble.

The NBA will allow players not enrolled in the G League affiliated teams to participate. So you should expect some non-role players from the Knicks G League club – the Westchester Knicks – to participate in training.

The Knicks have several 2020 free agents – or players with squad options for 2020-21 – currently under contract. It is not known if all of those players are participating in team training.

Individual and team training gives Tom Thibodeau and his staff the first opportunity to work with players. RJ Barrett and Frank Ntilikina were seen working with Thibodeau in photos posted on the team’s social media accounts. Barrett and Dennis Smith Jr. were pictured working with associate Knicks coach Johnnie Bryant and Robinson while working with Knicks assistant Kenny Payne.
